Job Description:
This job opening is for an experienced Unix/Linux Administrator to provide systems and middleware support services.
The successful candidate will be part of an IT operations team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available on-premise and cloud network/system architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs. The requirements for this position cover small and large systems infrastructures with emphasis on security, high availability, automation, in both on-premise and cloud architectures. This position requires an enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude, who is eager to learn new technologies and work under pressure.
What You'll Be Doing:
Administer, monitor, and deploy middleware, systems and services in on-premise and AWS environments
Perform middleware/systems maintenance and upgrades including deployments, installing service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
Create new and update existing scripts
Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the middleware/systems infrastructure
Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in compliance with security requirements
Provide support and troubleshooting to resolve issues, liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation, and afterhours deployment tasks

What Required Skills You'll Bring:
5+ years of middleware/systems/services architecture design, implementation and administration experience in on-premise and AWS environments
Expertise in Solaris and Linux system administration, as well as Bash, Python or other scripting languages
Working experience with email delivery (postfix, exim, DKIM, SPF, DMARC)
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash Shell or Python
Experience supporting middleware/reporting applications (WebSphere Application Server, HCL portal, Oracle Application Server, Pentaho, Actuate)
Hands-on experience in building and administration of virtual environments and containers using tools such as VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, Fargate
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently on projects with tight deadlines
Analytical, thorough, logical, detail-oriented, team player
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD processes using tools like SVN, Jenkins, Maven.
Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform.
Familiarity with systems end-point security technologies (CrowdStrike, Tenable, Splunk)
experience in database administration including tuning databases for optimal performance.

Salary Range:
$83,300.00 - $145,800.00
