Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experience and innovative Smart City Manager to lead the development and implementation of smart city initiatives within our Client’s Project. The Smart City Manager will demonstrate technical and professional competency in Urban Development concepts and Emerging technologies that enables Operational Efficiencies, Service Delivery Excellence, Citizen Experience Enhancements.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Business Assessment – Expert in conducting detailed situational assessment, technology evaluations, capability reviews of urban development and infrastructure projects. Drive independent diagnosis of existing infrastructure, policies, and technologies to identify areas for improvement and prioritize implementation strategies.

  • Strategic Planning – Collaborate with clients to define their smart city goals and objectives. Experienced in developing and implementing a comprehensive digital master plans and strategies for urban development, infrastructure and asset extensive projects in line with client priorities, which includes overall strategic vision and model, key objectives, KPIs and focus areas. Utilize systematic approaches for designing future city processes and solutions, based on global trends and local contextualization/ demands.

  • Project Development – Lead the development of smart city and digital transformation projects by creating project plans, resource planning, success factors, and outlining clear timelines and milestones.

  • Data Analysis and Insights – Analyze large datasets related to urban infrastructure, transportation, utilities consumption, municipal services and citizen behavior to derive actionable insights and optimize resource allocation, enhance operational efficiency, and improve the quality of life for residents.

  • Emerging Technology Evaluation – Evaluate and recommend appropriate emerging technologies, platforms, and solutions to support the implementation of smart city projects. Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI, ML, IoT, data analytics, and other relevant fields. Maintains affiliation/ network with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.

  • Policy and Governance – Provide expert advice on policy development, governance frameworks, operating structures to ensure smooth project development, implementation and operations. Promotes technical excellence on the project, including furthering the Quality Improvement Process.

  • Stakeholder Engagement – Engage with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, industry players, and technology providers, to foster collaboration and co-create progressive thinking around project priorities and initiatives. Conduct workshops, presentations, and meetings to communicate project progress and gather feedback.

  • Project Management – Oversee the implementation of smart city/ digital transformation projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders. Supervise project progress, mitigate risks, and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and timelines.

  • Knowledge Sharing – Stay updated with emerging trends and best practices in smart city development. Share insights and expertise through industry conferences, white papers, webinars, and other knowledge-sharing platforms. Mentor and guide junior consultants to become team player and lead individual project work streams.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in smart city planning, digital project development urban innovation, technology, or related field, with a proven track record of leading and managing smart city projects.

  • Strong understanding of urban planning principles and regulatory frameworks related to smart city initiatives.

  • Knowledge of smart city technologies, including IoT, data analytics, AI, cloud computing, and digital infrastructure, and their applications in diverse environments.

  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects from conception to implementation, on time and within budget.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and technical information to non-technical audiences.

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams and foster collaboration and teamwork.
